这三者都可以作“与…不同”解。它们的区别是：

1.侧重点不同:different from侧重于不同; different than侧重于对照; different to则侧重于比较。试比较:

Her second book is different from her first.

她写的第二本书和第一本书不同。

She is different than any other girl in the class.

和班上其他女孩子相比较,她是与众 不同的。

Huang Shan is different to Lu Shan, people usually say so after they visit these two scenic spots.

黄山与庐山各有千秋,人们在游完了 这两个风景胜地后常常这样说。

2.different from是标准用法,英美普遍使用; 而英式英语常用different to; different than则用于美国习语。例如:

That is different form what we thought. (BrE and AmE)

That is different to what we thought.(BrE)

That is different than we thought.(AmE)

那与我们想的不同。

3.在口语中, different from有时后接疑问词引起的从句。在这种情况下, from不宜改成than或to。例如:

Things are very different from what they used to be.情况与以前大不一样了。

4.有时different than后面可接that从句,这时than不宜改为from或to。例如:

They are not more different now than they were last year.他们现在和去年没有什么区别。

这两个词都可表示“不同的”。它们的区别是：

1.different着重在事物之间的差别,可指事物之间的本质差别,也可指事物之间的非本质的差别; various一般指同范围内的不同种类,不强调本质的差别。例如:

I met the old man at various times and various places.我在不同的时间和不同的地点遇到过这位老人。

2.different后可接单数名词,也可接复数名词; 而various后只能接复数名词。

Your plan is no different from mine.

你的计划和我的一模一样〔完全相同〕。

Your plan is not different from mine.

你的计划和我的没有差别。
